Shaping the Future of Education in Ohio
Ohio's system of public education must transform to meet the needs of a changing world. Rather than reacting to events that disrupt the status quo, our education institutions and leaders can position schools to thrive only by anticipating what lies ahead and bringing entire communities together to reimagine what schools should be.
KnowledgeWorks Foundation has devoted much of the past four years to studying the future and understanding what the coming decade might look like. In the 2020 Forecast: Creating the Future of Learning, KnowledgeWorks and the Institute for the Future have identified forces that will shape what and how students learn and explored their implications.
Ohio Education Matters believes the forecast holds important lessons for Ohio as we strive to create the public education system of the future. We hope to help Ohio prepare for the future by sharing ideas, innovations and opinions that will inspire and propel progress toward moving from a system of schooling to a world of learning.
